No Fear No Fear (Part 5)
No Fear, Yes God

At some point in life we all wonder about what the future holds. But the answers are often elusive. The driving motivation for these human musings and curiosity is often fear-driven. Fear of the future. In the upcoming series NO FEAR we delve into questions like: How do we have faith for what’s to come when life now is falling apart? What does this economic crisis mean for Christians? When is this world going to end? How will it all work out for me? And in doing so we will discover all the reasons why we can live life with no fear.

Think Different Think Different... About Death (Part 5)
Our world is filled with popular and unattractive ideas about the kind of person God is. Rise Above It Rise Above It (Part 4)
Forgiving Deep Wounds

After Joseph is reunited with his brothers who earlier sold him into slavery, he had several options at the “reunion”. It is the same with us when we’ve been wronged. We can react with revenge; we can approach the situation with resignation; we can refuse to accept it; or respond in God’s way: the way of reconciliation. We know this because God is in the business of reconciliation Himself. A three-step route to take is suggested here. Firstly, we must move to realise there has been a breakdown. Next, we should take the initiative with the other person(s). Finally, it is up to us initiate the spirit of forgiveness; to complete the process - God’s process.

Rise Above It Rise Above It (Part 3)
Living in the Limelight

When Joseph is released from prison, he doesn’t return to normal life, but becomes the ruler over the entire land. It is evident that God’s Spirit is upon him because of his wisdom and intelligence. Joseph gives the glory to God, “It is beyond my power to do this, but God can.” God works through people who are willing to submit their lives completely to God, and who are responsible with the small things of life are entrusted with “true riches”. The lasting effect to Joseph’s sons continues.

Rise Above It Rise Above It (Part 2)
When Character is Forged

“The Lord was with Joseph.” Genesis 39:2 is a very revealing verse. It is instructive to us when we realise Christ is with us through all our hardships. When Joseph was sold into slavery, he could have just quit - but he didn’t. Joseph became a successful assistant to a high-ranking Egyptian official. When the official’s wife attempted to seduce Joseph, he could have given in - but he didn’t. He resisted her advances. When he was jailed unjustly, he could have wallowed in self-pity - but he didn’t. Joseph’s compassion for his fellow prisoners eventually earned him his release. And through it all, the Lord was with him. Likewise, through our trials, the Lord can be with us - if we allow Him to be.

Rise Above It Rise Above It (Part 1)
Surviving an Imperfect Family

In the Bible we read about people and their families who were chosen by God, but actually were very flawed. This is no more apparent than in the story of Jacob and his sons, especially his favourite son, Joseph. What weakens this family and our families for that matter, is envy. And with family envy, no one is the winner. If we are the neglected son or daughter, we must acknowledge the hurt, renounce envious action and learn to receive acceptance. If we are the favoured child, we need to learn that the world does not revolve around us. We’re not the centre of attention. Finally, as parents, we have to acknowledge feelings of favouritism, and we should make sure we don’t focus all our attention on one child. Each one must be treated uniquely.

LO$T LO$T (Part 5)
Rescued

In this series, we learned that it's easy to get lost financially. And we learned that we cannot be fully devoted followers of Christ and remain lost. In this final message, we learn how to transition to a lifestyle that will take us where God wants us to be financially - steps that, when applied in our lives, will provide us with more financial margin, bring contentment, strengthen our relationships, and expand God's kingdom.

LO$T LO$T (Part 4)
Finding Shelter

Daily, we are bombarded with messages that cause us to be dissatisfied with our current circumstances. More money isn't the solution - feeding an appetite actually causes it to grow. Is there a way to harness discontentment? This week, we examine a passage from the Bible that will teach us how to quench the power of discontentment in our lives.

Moving To Higher Ground

A big part of getting "un-lost" is beginning to see as God sees. So how does God view money? What does He learn about us when He sees how we handle our money? What does He want us to do with our money? We will examine the words of Jesus to find the answers.
