Pastoral Groups

Why Pastoral Groups?

While it's great to join in worshipping with over 800 people, many studies have shown that when church works at its best you'll be in a group that knows 8-10 people really well (like a Life Group or Sabbath School class), be in a mid size group that knows 40 people on a support/fellowship basis (pastoral group) and then join together with a big group for celebration and worship (wider church). The pastoral group helps in developing the mid-sized group. Even if you know 40 people really well, chances are someone else in your group doesn't, and needs to know you.

Pastoral groups also mean we can provide better care as a church. Our pastoral leaders can concentrate on caring for, and encouraging, a manageable group and then communicate back and forward to the elders and leadership about our needs a congregation.

Your Pastoral Group

We want you to enjoy getting to know a group of other church attenders who you might not otherwise get to know.

We want you to have fun at pastoral events like lunches and socials and to experience what it's like to be part of a group that cares about each other.

A lot of consideration goes into developing the Pastoral Groups, which are made up of several small groups or they may be geographically linked. It's important to us that you feel comfortable with the pastoral group to which you have been allocated, so if you need to change groups, we can certainly accommodate this.
