There will be two courses run by Christopher Defibaugh from the school of Living Wisdom at Papsda this year, 'Living Wisdom' and 'Relate'.
These two courses are considered equally important halves, and although they concentrate on different topic & are excellent courses to do on their own, they also complement each other. Information about Living Widsom is provided below. If you would like information & registration for the Relate course please click here.
Isn’t Being a Christian Enough?
Should being a Christian sort out all of life’s challenges? How do I balance my love for God and following His will in my life when it comes to the challenges of relationships, past trauma, effective communication, sexuality and even of faith, to name just a few? For many people life has taken them by surprise and they find themselves unprepared for the challenges it brings. It doesn’t take long to realise that it’s not a lack of desire, rather a lack of the skill or wisdom to deal with the challenges of everyday life and relationships. Mental, emotional and relational health needs to be taken seriously if we are to live in peace with God and with others.
Specific Training is the Answer
The School of Living Wisdom is written and designed by David Riddell to assist us with everyday life. The course integrates common sense, psychology, philosophy and theology, to create a truly life changing experience. This unique course teaches basic competency in Pastoral Therapy to anyone with a desire to improve their own life, offer support to their family/friends, and acquire basic helping/counselling skills, for everyday conversations. Described affectionately as “a check-up from the neck-up” and “uncommonly common sense”, it has been widely attended by more than 2,000 students from all walks of life over the past 15 years.
